Cookies policy
Two entries in local storage, both for your own preferences. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no cross-site tracking.
The short version
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store and send back on future requests. Local storage is similar but stays in the browser — it is never automatically transmitted. Both are used to remember things between visits; the difference matters because only one of them leaves your device.
What this site stores
The complete list:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
technoviaa-theme |
Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit. | Until you clear it | Strictly necessary (preference) |
technoviaa-cookie-notice |
Local storage | Records that you have seen the notice at the bottom of the page, so it is not shown repeatedly. | Until you clear it | Strictly necessary (preference) |
Clearing either value has no consequence beyond the site forgetting your theme choice and showing the notice once more.
What we deliberately avoid
We have deliberately chosen not to use:
- Advertising or retargeting pixels from any network
- Cross-site tracking or device fingerprinting of any kind
- Session recording or heatmap tools that capture your interactions
- Third-party analytics that profile individual visitors
- Social media tracking widgets — our social links are plain hyperlinks
We measure how the site performs using aggregate server logs, which contain no persistent identifier and are deleted after 90 days.
Third-party content
One page embeds third-party content: the contact page includes a Google Maps frame showing our head office. Loading that frame lets Google set its own cookies and see your IP address, governed by Google's privacy policy rather than ours.
The map is set to load lazily, so it is requested only if you scroll to it. If you would rather avoid it entirely, our address is written out in text on the same page and in the footer of every page.
Managing and clearing storage
You can clear this site's stored values at any time:
- Chrome / Edge — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data and permissions
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Any browser — open a private or incognito window; nothing persists after you close it
Because both values are preferences rather than tracking, blocking them causes no loss of functionality. The site simply defaults to your operating system's colour scheme.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics or any storage beyond the two entries above, we will update this page, change the date at the top, and introduce a genuine consent mechanism before anything is set.
